Abstract

Education is the foundation for developing the abilities and character of children, especially education about religious knowledge. TPA Salafiah is a place to study the Koran in Dusun Candi, Magelang Regency, but the learning system at TPA Salafiah still uses the old method where the ustadz actively explains, making children get bored quickly. Gaulga Sepalam is a snake and ladder game that can be used as an innovation in learning media at TPA Salafiah because children tend to be more active in answering questions in the Gaulga Sepalam game. The purpose of this game is to increase knowledge about Islamic teachings, as well as increase motivation to learn to study the Koran. The application of this learning media is shown to the students of TPA Salafiah. Community service is carried out using the Community Based Research (CBR) method. The results of the community service with the new learning media that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the use of the Islamic snake and ladder game as a learning method can improve children's understanding of short prayers and religious knowledge. This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the students and received full support from the TPA management.
